DESCRIPTION:Our 2026-27 season\, Epic Works\, showcases four remarkable large-scale compositions that demonstrate the depth\, imagination\, and expressive power of the wind band repertoire. Our second featured work is Percy Grainger’s In a Nutshell\, the celebrated four-movement suite first performed in 1916. In just twenty minutes\, Grainger captures the rhythmic vitality\, folk-inspired melodies\, and inventive orchestration that define his unmistakable compositional voice.
